"All Men Are Created Equal"
A very brave soul got a few pictures for us during a break on the set of Django Unchained several months ago, and I’m grateful for it. I may have traded my fedora for a bonnet, but this is easily one of my favorite period costumes I ever had the opportunity to wear in a movie. How cool is it to get to show up to work just down the street from home and get to be a 19th century Quaker abolitionist for a day? SuperCool.
I can’t wait to see the movie. (Stop telling me about it, guys. Seriously. I won’t get to see it for at least another week.)
If you’re in the New Orleans area and have seen an uptick young men rocking the long beard look lately, it’s not just your imagination, nor is it a small invasion of ironic hipsters. More than likely, they’re movie extras. Django Unchained, the latest revenge fantasy from acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino, is set in the South in the 19th century, and is being filmed throughout the metro area. Though behind its original schedule and still in production, an early teaser trailer was released this week. Already, Unchained is becoming one of the most highly anticipated films scheduled for release during the 2012 holiday season. Check out the link above to view the trailer over at Nola Defender.
